With a route in the heart of the city centre, the 2024 Fun Run promises the best of Belfast’s landmarks, history, and culture, made even better by a Christmas glow.

Seasonal fancy dress is encouraged, so get those Santa hats and elf shoes at the ready. You can choose to run, walk, or jog the 5K Fun Run – it’s open to all ages and abilities and everyone will be chip timed. *

*All children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

“We’re thrilled to unveil a brand-new event to add to our series at Belfast City Marathon. The Moy Park Belfast City 5K Fun Run is an accessible event that is open to all, from those seeking to set a personal best, to fundraising groups or those simply wishing to enjoy time with family and friends in the lead up to Christmas.”

To celebrate the launch of the NEW event, the first 100 adults to register and the first 50 children to register will also receive a FREE bespoke event tech t-shirt. T-shirts will be available thereafter for £10 (adult) and £7.50 (child).

Ellen Wright, Senior Brand Manager, Moy Park commented.

“We’re delighted to welcome The Moy Park Belfast City 5K Fun Run to our lineup of Marathon events in 2024. This race is a fantastic opportunity for people of all abilities to get involved and bring families and communities together to get active and encourage a balanced lifestyle with the help of Moy Park.

“We’re encouraging as many people as possible to sign up, whether you’re a runner, jogger or just want to walk, this is the perfect event for all to sign up to, with an added festive feel in the run up to Christmas.”

Participants are invited to raise funds for our Official Charity Partner for the event, Cancer Focus NI. Cancer Focus NI supports local cancer patients, their families and carers, funds research and campaigns for better health policies.

Maeve Colgan, Director of Fundraising and Communications, Cancer Focus NI commented;

“Our charity is once again delighted to partner with Belfast City Marathon and Moy Park on a new running event that will surely become a Christmas family tradition for years to come. As the official charity partner, the FESTIVE 5K Fun Run will help us raise the funds needed to continue delivering our vital services to the 3,500 clients and their families who rely on us each year. Additionally, the partnership will help us to promote our cancer awareness and health improvement messages to even more local people.”

With every penny raised going a long way at our charity, I am encouraging any Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, or Vixen, to pop on their most Christmassy jumper to run, jog, walk, wheel, or sleigh for Cancer Focus NI.”

Early bird entries are available until midnight 5th January 2024 for just £10 (adult) and £8 (child) and the organisers are encouraging early entry as this is promised to be another sold out event for the community. Everyone that registers will receive a merry medal at the finish line – so will yours be hung on the Christmas tree next year?
