On your Marks, Get Set, Fundraise for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland

28 March 2024

With only 12 weeks to race day, your fundraising is needed more than ever to help support the vital work of Cancer Focus NI. Each day in Northern Ireland, another 37 people are told that they have cancer. Thankfully, your local cancer charity is there to help support people and families on their journey.

On your Marks, Get Set, Fundraise for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland

Each year, Cancer Focus NI is there for almost 8,000 people and families through a range of cancer support services and cancer prevention activity. This includes the 3,662 counselling sessions delivered to people needing to talk through their experience of cancer. It includes countless hours of support provided to 358 local parents, children and carers going through a diagnosis or bereavement. And it includes the 822 women impacted by breast cancer who receive bra fitting consultations.

Championing local women's health, previous Miss Northern Ireland, Cool FM presenter and paediatric nurse, Katharine Walker, is encouraging people to get active all while fundraising for their local cancer charity.

''And at times when you do need that support, knowing that there are organisations, like Cancer Focus Northern Ireland who are there for you when you need them, is reassuring and really adds a special meaning to an event like the women's 10K''

Where your fundraising goes:
